Anadarko Executive Named Whiting CEO
Bradley J. Holly, 46, an Anadarko Petroleum executive, was been named president and CEO of Whiting Petroleum Corp. at the beginning of November, succeeding James Volker, who is retiring. Whiting is the largest producer in the Williston Basin, with a production of 112,000 BOEPD.
Volker will serve as executive chairman of the Whiting Board of Directors until Dec. 31, and will remain on the board until the 2018 mid-year meeting of stockholders.
“It is a privilege to join an industry leader with an impressive asset base, highly efficient capital plan, and proven record of strong performance,” Holly said.
Whiting director William N. Hahne said that Holly was chosen after evaluating several candidates. “We are confident that Brad’s integrity, passion, and extensive industry experience in both the Rocky Mountains and the onshore US make him the ideal choice to lead Whiting in its next phase of value growth.”
Holly was formerly chairman of the Colorado Oil and Gas Assn. and started his career in 1994 with Amoco as a petroleum engineer. He has held several executive positions with Anadarko.
