Jan. 17 Permit Hearing Booked For Belfield Refinery
A public hearing on the proposed draft air quality permit for Meridian Energy’s Belfield refinery is scheduled for 5:30 pm on Jan. 17, at Dickinson State University.
The proposed $900 million refinery will initially process 27,500 BOPD, and construction will start as soon as the final air quality permit is approved.
“Public input is encouraged and welcomed,” said Terry O’Clair, director of the Division of Air Quality for the ND Dept. of Health, which is reviewing the permit. “The Department of Health is committed to a thorough and transparent review process.”
“We are extremely proud to have achieved this milestone in the permitting process. Publication of this draft permit acknowledges the tireless work performed by the entire team,” said Meridian CEO Williams Prentice. “We continued to push the limits of technical innovation throughout this process, and never stopped seeking opportunities to make the Davis Refinery as clean as it could possibly be.”
